Bonaventura is an Engineer in Computer Science, specialized in  the research fields of Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. He has a Bachelor and a Master’s degree summa cum laude in Computer and Software Engineering from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He is about to defend his Ph.D. dissertation on automatic processing of language Frame Semantics at the ICT-School of the University of Trento.  His main interests cover applied research in Textual Information Access and Knowledge Management, with special focus on Natural Language Analysis and Understanding. As an engineer, he applies his expertise in designing and developing real-world computer systems and applications in the same areas. During his Ph.D, he has been a visiting research scholar at the Information Sciences Institute (ISI, University of Southern California, Los Angeles), and he also visited the Center for Computational Learning Systems (CCLS, Columbia University, New York City). He achieved a five year experience on European Research Projects at FBK-irst, HLT Research Unit, and he has been teaching Laboratory of Distributed Systems for two years at University of Bozen-Bolzano. His current effort is on the LUNA European Project at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI), University of Trento, in which he is porting automatic processing of Frame Semantics from written text analysis to real time Spoken Dialog Systems.
